Glowcast is planned to launch on iPhone and iPad in 2027. This page will grow with the App; until launch, it covers the essentials and how to reach us.

Getting started

  1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to a projector (see the projector guide below), or skip this and preview on your phone.
  2. Open Discover, pick a show and tap Use template.
  3. Follow the guided fit: drag each corner of the outline onto your real window, door or wall. Use the magnifier and the 1 px nudge buttons for precision.
  4. Add your text, photos and colours, then tap Start show.

No projector yet? Use Preview on a photo of my house to see any show on a picture of your home.

Projector guide

Cable (best quality, no delay). Use a USB-C to HDMI adapter (iPhone 15 and later, USB-C iPads) or Apple’s Lightning Digital AV Adapter (earlier iPhones). Adapters with a charging port let the show run all night.

AirPlay (wireless). Open Control Centre, tap Screen Mirroring and choose your Apple TV or AirPlay projector, then return to Glowcast: it takes over the projector automatically. AirPlay adds a short delay, so use a cable for music-reactive shows.

How bright? A window at night works with an inexpensive projector. An indoor wall is best with 1,000+ lumens. A whole house front needs about 3,000 lumens or more. Turn off your projector’s auto-keystone and fix it in place so your fit stays lined up.

Troubleshooting

  • Black screen on the wall. Choose the correct input (HDMI 1 or 2) on the projector, check that your USB-C cable carries video (some only charge), and unplug and re-plug the adapter.
  • I see my whole phone screen. That’s AirPlay mirroring. Open Glowcast and it switches the projector to the show.
  • Blurry or soft edges. Many budget projectors are 720p or lower. Set Profile → Output → Resolution to your projector’s native resolution, then focus the lens.
  • Edges cut off. Your projector or TV is overscanning. Adjust Overscan until the test grid’s border is fully visible.
  • The show moved. If the projector was bumped, use Projector bumped? in the fit screen to shift every surface back in one go.

Subscriptions and purchases

  • Cancel: on iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Glowcast. On Android, go to Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Restore purchases: in the App, open Profile → Restore purchases while signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account.
  • Refunds: Apple and Google handle refunds. Use reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play’s refund page.
  • Season Pass: a one-time purchase for 60 days of Pro. It never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.

See the Terms of Use for full subscription terms.
